Steve J. Kutney, 87 years old, formerly from Elyria, Ohio died on Tuesday September 30, 2008 at the home of his son in Marysville, Ohio following a short illness.

Mr. Kutney was born on April 24, 1921 in Idamar, Pennsylvania and lived in Elyria for over 50 years moving to Marysville, Ohio in 2005.  He served with the United States Army during WW11.  He was employed as a tool & tie maker for Ridge Tool Company in Elyria for many years.  Mr. Kutney enjoyed bee keeping and guitar playing.

He is survived by one son, Steven G. Kutney with whom he made his home; three daughters, Dorothy Ross of Eaton, Ohio; Darlene Krausher of Elyria, Ohio and Kathleen Jackson of Colchester, Vermont; nine grandchildren and one great grandaugther.  He is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Bellas and Mary Shaeffer both from Pennsylvania. He was a loving and caring grandfather to his nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Mr. Kutney was preceded in death by his wife Mary T. (nee Tomanek) Kutney in 1997; one sister, Helen Bublinec and one brother, John Kutney and his parents, John and Katherine (‘Cicaniak’) Kutney. He was also preceded in death by Ana Bellas, Michael Kutney, George Kutney and Andrew Kutney.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035  on Friday from 2-4 to 7-9P.M.  Closing prayers will be in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00A.M.  Mass will follow at 9:30A.M. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio with the Reverend Father James Ols, Pastor officiating.  Burial with full military honors provided by the VFW Post 1079 will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
