Barbara A. Velez (nee Lotman), 75 years old of North Ridgeville, Ohio passed away at University Hospital's Elyria Medical Center on Friday, March 3, 2017. Barbara was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on August 14, 1941 and she moved to the area from Ocala, Florida 2 1/2 years ago.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Velez of Cleveland and Juanita (David Kothe) Velez of Eaton Township; and one son Jose (Penny) Velez of Owenton, Kentucky. Also surviving are grandchildren, Hayley Klingensmith (Dustin), Michael Tancak (Kaylee), Jessie Kothe (Bree), Edward Tancak (Emily), Dinorah Figueroa, Richard Figueroa, Amber Shultz, Madisyn Velez, Paula Rivera, Nathan Rivera, Sable Rivera, Rob Cooper, Mary Ester Velez; and numerous adopted grandchildren. Sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Geronimo Velez; a son Robert Lotman; a grandson, David Kothe, Jr.; and her parents, Robert H. and Alice (nee Riser) Lotman.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services at 7:30 P.M. with Noel Hock, Pastor of The First Baptist Church of LaGrange, Ohio, officiating.
