Laura LindenLaura J. Linden, age 95 formerly of Elyria, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Laurels of New London where she resided for 14 months. Laura was born April 13, 1922 in Troy, Ohio. She lived in the North Ridgeville and Elyria area most of her life, and in New London for the past 14 years.

She was a 1940 graduate of North Ridgeville High School. During World War II she founded a ladies group called the “Merry Wives of ‘40” consisting of friends whose husbands were serving in the military during World War II. The group continued to meet monthly over the years until 2015.

Laura was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Elyria. Over the years she was employed at General Industries, Western Automatic, and Trio Products. She, also, worked at the Board of Elections form many years on Election Day. She enjoyed spending time at the Elyria VFW Post #1079. She enjoyed painting ceramics.

She was a special mom and grandmother who made many home crafted gifts over the years. Her children especially cherish the handcrafted, twenty piece, ceramic Nativity set she made for each of them.

She is survived by her children, Bernard Linden of Norwalk, Catherine (Richard) Choma of New London, Ohio, Barbara (Ken) Scheuvront of Elyria; her daughter-in-laws Shirley Linden of Sullivan, and Diane Linden of Columbia Station; 27 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Linden in 1991; two sons Craig in 2016 and James in 2014; daughter-in-law Sandi Linden in 2011, her brother Albert McWilliam; and by her parents Albert and Itasca McWilliam (nee Slitor).

Friends may call Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor of St. Mary's Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that everyone do something special with their family members in memory of their mother.
