Theodore (Ted) P. Janus Print E-mail

Ted Janus Theodore (Ted) P. Janus, 98 years old of Elyria, Ohio passed away at UH Elyria Medical Center on Friday, November 24, 2017.

Ted was born on December 27, 1918 in Schenectady, New York and made his home here most of his life. He proudly served with the United States Army/Air Force during WWII and was employed as a shipping manager for Stanadyne-Moen. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Elyria Menís Senior Fellowship Club. He enjoyed volunteering for the Lorain County Council on Aging and for the North Ridge Health Center in North Ridgeville. Ted enjoyed golfing, fishing, trap shooting and working with his hands. He loved spending time with his family taking annual vacations. He and his wife traveled all over the country after retirement, including cruises and train trips.

Surviving him are his two children, Barbara (Dennis) Pinkerton of Marengo, Ohio and Ron (Jane Read) Janus of Everton, Arkansas; a sister-in- law Vera Janas of Elyria; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2003; one brother, Frank Janas and one sister, Genevieve Snyder; and his parents, Peter and Antonia Janusz.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with the Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, officiating. Burial, with full military honors provided by the VFW, Post 1079, will be at 3:00 P.M. at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, Ohio.

Barb,Ron and family so truly sorry for your loss. Uncle Ted was a wonderful man. I will always remember the kindness and love he showed me. Rest in peace sweet man.

Barb, Ron and family: So very sorry to hear of Ted\\\'s passing. I wanted to see him last time I was in Elyria but time ran out. Prayers for comfort and peace at this time.
