Mabel CallawayMabel Callaway (nee Drenner) 93 years old of Elyria, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at UH Elyria Medical Center Emergency Room following a sudden illness.

Mabel was born in East Lynn, West Virginia on June 4, 1925 and made her home in Elyria for most of her life. She was a homemaker and practiced the Methodist religion. She enjoyed traveling to different casinos and trying her luck on the slot machines.

Surviving her are three daughters. Sandra Callaway Parker of Memphis, Tennessee, Kathy (Dale) Eckhart and Cheryl Callaway Strawn both of Elyria; two sons, Gary Lee (Jacqueline) Burch of Port Charlotte, Florida and Kevin Callaway of Memphis, Tennessee. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jerry Burch of Port Charlotte, Dennis Strawn of Amherst, Matthew Parker of Memphis and Nicholas Eckhart of Elyria; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Eldon Callaway in 1992; her parents, George and Almeda (nee Davis) Drenner; five brothers; and four sisters.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street. Elyria, Ohio on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Robert Wickens, Church of the Open Door, officiating. Burial will follow at Murray Ridge Cemetery in Elyria, Ohio.

Our hearts are saddened with the loss of Aunt Mabel. My childhood memories are filled with much love and laughter with her. She will surely be missed. Sending our Love and Sympathies to you all.
